/ 01 · Coastal ground rules

Eastern NC site work is mostly a water problem wearing a dirt-work hat.

A pretty grade that fails after the first storm is not site development. Around Bayboro, New Bern, Pamlico County and the coast, access, drainage, soil movement and regulatory sequencing have to be solved together.

Andromeda brings the equipment, operators and GC oversight to turn raw land into usable infrastructure: open the site, move the dirt, control the water, prepare the roads, and leave the next phase ready to start.

/ 02 · Scope

What we build before the building starts.

A site-development package should create access, control water, support traffic, and make the next phase easier — not just move dirt around.

/ 01

Clearing, grubbing and access

Open the site, remove vegetation and stumps, establish equipment access, and expose the actual ground conditions before grading begins.

/ 02

Excavation and earthwork

Cut/fill, building pads, pond excavation, trenching support, haul-off, import, and massaging the site into the grades the project needs.

/ 03

Precision grading

Shape pads, roads, swales, shoulders, slopes, and drainage paths so water goes where the plan says it should go.

/ 04

Roads and base prep

Construction entrances, access roads, subdivision roads, stone base, compaction sequencing, culverts, and road-ready infrastructure.

/ 05

Drainage and ditching

Engineered ditch lines, swales, culvert installation, stormwater support, retention areas, and maintenance access for wet Eastern NC sites.

/ 06

Subdivision infrastructure

Roads, lots, drainage, utility corridors, equipment staging, and the heavy civil sequence that turns raw land into a buildable project.

/ 03 · Permits, roads and water

The boring constraints are where expensive mistakes hide.

Coastal and subdivision work can involve county ordinances, drainage certifications, NCDOT road standards, erosion control, stormwater requirements and CAMA-sensitive areas. Andromeda scopes the work around those realities instead of pretending the land is dry, flat and simple.

/ 01

CAMA-aware coastal coordination

Handled as part of the project conversation before equipment is committed and production starts.

/ 02

NCDOT-conscious road and base work

Handled as part of the project conversation before equipment is committed and production starts.

/ 03

Pamlico and Eastern NC drainage realities

Erosion, stormwater and access sequencing

Handled as part of the project conversation before equipment is committed and production starts.

/ 04 · Process

Clear the land. Control the water. Build the access. Keep the project moving.

/ 01

Walk the site before the dirt moves

Access, wetlands, slopes, soils, drainage outlets, future roads, utility paths, staging, and permit constraints all get reviewed before production starts.

/ 02

Sequence the work

Clearing, drainage, excavation, road base, grading, and follow-on construction are ordered so one phase does not undo the last one.

/ 03

Build for water and access

In coastal Carolina, drainage and access are not details. They decide whether the site works after the first heavy rain.

/ 04

Leave it ready for the next trade

The goal is usable ground: roads that carry traffic, pads ready for construction, drainage that can be maintained, and a project that can keep moving.

/ 06 · FAQ

Straight answers before the site walk.

Do you handle site development before vertical construction starts?+

Yes. Andromeda can clear, grub, excavate, grade, build access, install drainage features, prepare road base and coordinate the heavy civil sequence before vertical construction begins.

Can you help with wet or poorly draining coastal sites?+

Yes. Eastern NC sites often need drainage considered from day one: ditches, swales, culverts, retention areas, road crowns, pad elevation and maintenance access. Andromeda scopes the water problem before treating grading like a flatwork exercise.

Do subdivision roads need to meet NCDOT standards?+

If roads are intended for public acceptance or state maintenance, NCDOT standards and approval requirements can matter. Andromeda builds road and base work with that reality in mind and coordinates around project-specific plans and requirements.

When does permitting become part of site development?+

Permitting depends on the property, shoreline proximity, wetlands, stormwater requirements, local subdivision rules and the scope of work. Coastal and waterfront-adjacent sites may trigger CAMA, county, erosion control or stormwater coordination before work starts.

Can Andromeda continue into the next phase after site work?+

Yes. That is the advantage of using a licensed GC with owned equipment. The same contractor can move from land clearing and infrastructure into construction, marine work, structural repairs, hauling or municipal support when the project demands it.
